Choline chloride has multiple functions in both monogastic and ruminant animal species, including important roles in animal production, reproduction and health. Choline [(CH₃)3N+CH₂CH₂OH] is a multi-function B-complex vitamin that has a close inter functional relationship with methionine, vitamin B12, and folic acid.

VF CHOLICOAT 25% uses advanced technology to coat choline chloride with a protective layer of fatty acids, of which rumen microbes are unable to digest. However, further down the digestion process, digestive enzymes come in and have the capabilities to break down the fatty acid coating to release the choline chloride for absorption.
